A day in Kadoka

A day in Kadoka

Here it is the last day of January, 2024. The snow from the storms we had earlier is fast disappearing due to warm temperatures. It is not uncommon for this time of year to have a January thaw. The runoff is fast and soaking into the ground, which is badly needed for crops that were planted in the fall and for future crops and hay. As farmers and ranchers moisture is welcome. We installed wooden snow fences around our buildings here in town and they have proven useful in stopping some snow to accumulate in the wrong spots. I had used the Bobcat to remove snow from in front of our shop and house and piled it to work as additional snow barriers but it is melting down.
